Focus
Ferry-ticket aggregator
Laevapiletid.ee set out to fix a genuinely fragmented experience — booking Baltic ferry tickets across individual operator sites. The answer was a centralized aggregator for routes, schedules and dynamic pricing, later operated by Estravel.
Normalization as a growth strategy
Ferry ticketing is notoriously complex: cabin classes, passenger demographics, vehicle dimensions, pet accommodations and overlapping operator pricing. A modular relational schema decoupled routes, vessels, pricing tiers and bookings, with strict normalization so the next wave of engineers could add operators without systemic rewrites.
That foundation scaled to support full international growth and an eventual Estravel acquisition.
