Starship Technologies builds autonomous delivery robots; the consumer mobile app is how a human meets one. Built on React Native for a unified iOS and Android codebase, it carried the whole journey — order placement, live tracking and the encrypted handshake that unlocks the cargo bay on arrival.
Complexity hidden behind calm
A geospatial telemetry layer and encrypted robot-unlock handshake sat behind a hyper-minimalist interface that quietly masked payment processing, order queues and real-time tracking. Deep voice-command support kept it accessible and human-centered.
The handover was the real success metric: rigorous standards and clean separation of concerns left Starship’s internal engineers a fully legible, unburdened codebase to inherit.
